ME & NIGHT by Angela Fanche

Angela Fanche is one of my favorite contemporary cartoonists, and Me & Night is a collection of her masterful diary comics, made from 2018-2020. Drawn in a ragged but beautifully idiosyncratic style, full of scratchy lines, scribbles, and odd angles, and written in a plain yet heartfelt and passionate manner, these comics document the goings-on a of a young creative woman in modern day New York City– friends, cats, doubt, insecurity, bicycles, money, life. This collection is lovingly handmade, with a two-color silkscreened dust jacket and hand-bound, French-folded risographed pages. Consequently, the book is a little pricey, and available in limited quantities — but I’m telling you, these are possibly the greatest comics 0f the last few years. Absolutely, beyond highly recommended! 112 pages, 5.5″ x 6.5″, silkscreened covers, stab-bound by hand. (Cram Books)
