THE LADY WHO USED TO FEED HIM HAS MOVED AWAY ed. by Bruce Simon

For some time, Bruce Simon has been producing these lovely collections of early Public Domain cartoons from the Golden Age of Newspapers. I’m proud and delighted to offer them here at Spit and a Half!

THE LADY WHO USED TO FEED HIM HAS MOVED AWAY and Other Incredibly Sad Dog Cartoons is an exquisite collection of funny, heartbreaking, and eminently real vintage comics and cartoons compiled by Bruce Simon from the Golden Age of Newspaper Comics. Includes work (with brief biographies) from H.T. Webster, Clare Briggs, J.R. Williams, Ed Dodd, Frank Beck, and more; with an introductory essay by Simon, cover art by Noah Van Sciver, and an interior drawing by Carol Lay. Truly wonderful and moving, this is one of my favorite collections of comics in recent years. 82 full-sized pages, color cover, black and white interiors. (Hoo-Hah! Press)
